Artificial intelligence is empowering businesses to work smarter. With cloud computing, this becomes easier and cheaper. This public talk will introduce the application of cloud-delivered artificial intelligence on Google Cloud Platform, which is one of the best cloud offerings for high-end machine learning applications.

Dr. Cheng-Hua Kuo, the CTO of CloudMile, will introduce how big data analytics and machine learning work as an advanced solution for business. Mr. James Kao, the COO of CloudMile, will share his experience and unique views on how businesses can leverage the technologies on the Google Cloud Platform to practice smart workflow and enhance efficiency. Mr. Danny Mak from Google Singapore will share insights on the development and applications of the Google Cloud Platform in financial technology and other areas.

Speakers Profiles

Danny Mak
Cloud Engineer, Partners, Google SG
Danny is a partner engineer at Google Cloud APAC. His specialization is in defining Go-to-Market strategies and evangelizing Google Cloud in the partner community. Danny also has diverse working experiences in Hong Kong where he led the B2B sales team at Apple and was the first member of the Azure launch team at Microsoft. Danny holds an MBA from HKUST business school and a Bachelor degree of Software Engineering from University of Waterloo.
Dr. Cheng-hua Kuo
Chief Technology Officer, Cloud Mile Inc.
Dr. Kuo has been a data scientist for more than 20 years. Dr. Kuo is the CTO of CloudMile, a Google Cloud partner company specialising in applying state of the art technology such as machine learning and blockchain to business processes. Dr. Kuo has worked extensively on helping businesses to strengthen customer experience and achieve operational excellence with technologies such as cognitive automation. Dr. Kuo obtained his PhD from the Ohio State University and has served in several IT executive positions for various industries since then.
James Kao
Chief Operations Officer, Cloud Mile Inc.
James is COO of Cloud Mile Inc, a cloud service solution provider focuses on big data and machine learning for enterprise clients. Before joining CloudMile, James has 20 years of sales, operation, and marketing management experience in media, Internet, education, startup, and PR industry include Yahoo!, EF, WSE, Global7HK across APAC countries. James also has intensive experience in cross-culture communication and management. James obtained MBA in Strategic Marketing from the University of Hull in UK.
Assoc. Prof Lee Yew Haur
Head of programme in Business Analytics, SUSS
Associate Professor Lee Yew Haur is the Head of the Business Analytics Programme in the School of Business, Singapore University of Social Sciences. Before joining academia in 2009, Dr Lee was a consultant with SAS Institute and has successfully implemented several business analytics projects. Before joining SAS Institute, he was a principal statistician working for TECH Semiconductor, a wafer fabrication plant. Dr Lee graduated with a PhD in Statistics from Virginia Tech.

The one-day workshop will cover selected topics on GCP overview, preparation for data process, Machine learning and AI fundamentals, TensorFlow on the cloud, and case studies on GCP applications.

Attendees of the public talk will enjoy an early registration to the FREE workshop on “Big Data, Cloud Computing & AI on Google Cloud Platform TensorFlow.” This workshop will be limited to 100 participants, and a certificate will be issued upon successful course completion.
