The blockchain technology offers an opportunity to engender consumer trust in the retail and supply chain industries. It is a mechanism that can realize a transparent and trusted record-keeping to allow parties in the supply chain network to track and trace the information and journey of a product. The blockchain-based anti-counterfeit solution, “BlockVerify”, is an instance where blockchain is used as a solution to thwart counterfeiting of products through communication and cooperation of various parties, including the supplier, manufacturer, consumers and regulators. Blockchain thus promises to be the enabling technology for an extremely efficient and trustworthy retail and supply chain network.
This panel discussion will focus on blockchain technology catered for the retail and supply chain industry. The topics of discussion would include how blockchain could revolutionalise the retail and supply chain industry and the challenges that need to be addressed before blockchain can proliferate across the network.
